Discovery Meeting
A discovery meeting is a free 15-minute initial session where the therapist and the client get to know each other and begin to explore the client's reasons for seeking therapy. The primary purpose of this meeting is for both the therapist and the client to gather information, set goals, and establish rapport.
Overall, a discovery meeting sets the stage for a successful therapeutic relationship by establishing trust, clarifying expectations, and laying the groundwork for the work that lies ahead in therapy.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy, also known as counseling or psychotherapy, is a confidential process where an individual works one-on-one with a trained therapist to explore their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and experiences. This therapeutic relationship provides a safe and supportive environment for personal growth, self-exploration, and healing.
The primary goal of individual therapy is to help clients understand themselves better, gain insight into their emotions and behaviors, and develop coping strategies to address challenges and achieve their goals. Sessions typically focus on the client's specific concerns, whether they are related to mental health issues, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or personal development.
Family Therapy
Family therapy, also known as family counseling or systemic therapy, is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on improving communication and resolving conflicts within families. In family therapy, the entire family unit participates in sessions together.
The primary goal of family therapy is to address issues affecting the functioning of the family as a whole, such as communication problems, behavioral issues, conflicts, and major life transitions. Therapists help families identify unhealthy patterns of interaction and develop healthier ways of relating to each other.
